Help improve the record
Bring your knowledge
We welcome precise corrections, specialist reading and language review. Each contribution has a defined scope; a contribution is credited only after it has been received and checked.
Review a page
Send the page URL, the exact passage, your proposed wording and the source with a page or paragraph reference. Tell us which field or community you work with and how you would like to be credited. You can ask to remain unnamed publicly. We do not publish private contact details.
Review a translation
Choose Modern Standard Arabic, Standard Moroccan Tamazight in Latin or Tifinagh, or Kabyle in Latin. Identify your variety and writing conventions. Compare the draft with the English source, including uncertainty, dates, citations and image credits. Mark passages you have checked and leave everything else outside your review scope.
Help with a name
For a name record, include its stable catalogue ID, spelling, language variety, a dictionary entry or naming study, and an identifiable example of use. Word meaning, personal-name use and historical association are separate fields. A pronunciation needs its variety, speaker consent and a recording or an exact published transcription. We do not infer a pronunciation from a familiar spelling.
Offer an image or a voice
Send a link first. Explain who made the recording or photograph, who appears in it, who holds the rights, its date and place, and what permission is available. Include a transcript and translation where possible. Public availability does not grant permission to copy. Do not send private, sacred or restricted material, or recordings of children.
What happens next
- Your message enters the private publisher queue.
- The publisher checks scope, sources and permissions before editing.
- Accepted substantive changes receive a visible change note and date. Review credit describes the exact contribution rather than implying approval of the whole website.
There is no automatic publication or promised response time. This invitation is not an employment offer or agreement to pay. Any commissioned work needs a separate agreement.
